The Vaishno Devi Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Vaishno Devi, located in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of the most revered and visited pilgrimage sites in India. The temple is situated at an altitude of approximately 5,200 feet above sea level and is accessible via a trek of about 13 kilometers from the base camp at Katra.
Devotees believe that visiting the Vaishno Devi Mandir fulfills their wishes and brings them blessings from the goddess. The temple receives millions of pilgrims every year, especially during the Navratri festival, which is considered an auspicious time for worship.
Legend has it that Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani, manifested in the form of three holy 'Pindis' (stone idols) in the cave where the temple is situated. These idols represent the three forms of the goddess - Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.
